That’s right, Ixcitable for Jigsaw 1.0 is now available on the App Store! But don’t just take my word for it, click over to the App Store and see for yourself. You’ll need the iTunes link for that. Also if you’d like a better look at the app before buying there is a new series of screenshots of it in the Features section of the site.

It’s easy to send in your feedback using Ixcitable. Just navigate to the About view in the Tools tab, and simply press the feedback@ixcitable.com email address and you’ll be able to email in feedback without even having to leave Ixcitable.

This is just the beginning. Advanced search functionality is already being prototyped for development in an upcoming release. It wasn’t forgotten or ignored, nor considered non-essential or unimportant. Quite the contrary. It’s really important that you are able to find what you are looking for, the way you want to look for it, and quickly too. Quick Search isn’t enough, but I hope it’ll tide you over until you get to use what will hopefully be one of the most user friendly advanced search services you’ve ever experienced. If you have an opinion on advanced search, or lists, don’t be shy to share it.

I hope you enjoy filling up Ixcitable for Jigsaw and your iPhone Contacts app with plenty of valuable business contacts, and don’t forget to contribute more contacts of your own via the Jigsaw.com website. If you would like to open up a debate on the app you’re more than welcome to do so with the Jigsaw community at The Corner.

Sincerely,
Ray Scott

.

Today marks the close of a significant period in my life. After months of hard work and hundreds of hours spent pouring over every detail of it’s design and implementation, Ixcitable for Jigsaw 1.0 was submitted to the App Store for review.

I find it difficult to stop and take stock of this. Even when on vacation in Egypt for 2 weeks in early September 2009, I was still thinking about and exploring the potential of what I was creating. For me it’s just the beginning. It’s the beginning for many others too. The app has grown and morphed from something I thought would be quite trivial and non de-script into something I feel passionately about. Highly anticipated in Jigsaw circles, I hope it goes on to help drive the productivity and contribute to the success of countless business men and women.

I am very excited about the potential of Ixcitable for Jigsaw. If you were to ask me what my goal is for the future of the app, I would tell you it’s to create a unique eco-system the likes of which no one has ever seen before, through collaboration with services in a way that helps to further define and validate them, while ensuring they aren’t weakened and their strengths are further developed and harnessed in a new eco-system that is more powerful to the user, than each on it’s own. Each being strengthened by this mutual collaboration, Ixcitable being the spark that exists between the two. The host of this new and valuable eco-system.

The app will sell for $4.99 USD and will be available in all regions and installable on iPhones running OS 3.0 and later.
Current estimates from Apple indicate It should be available on the App Store hopefully no later than Friday 13th November, but this of course is subject to the App Store review process. Follow the RSS feed for this blog, and I’ll announce it’s availability just as soon as it’s released. If you tweet, follow us on Twitter. Our user name is unsurprisingly @ixcitable.

I would like to thank Ethan Prater, former VP of Technology Alliances at Jigsaw for allowing me to be part of the Jigsaw Developer Program, for seeing the value in even the indy developer and setting up a great developer program and API to access such a huge amount of quality data. Aaron Miller, Technology Alliances Lead at Jigsaw, I’d like to thank for his invaluable assistance and advice, at literally all hours of the day and night, that went into making a far better app than I could have ever hoped to produce on my own. Gage Hudson, SQA at Jigsaw for gently pushing me towards a better quality release and adding valuable enhancements and insight into the usability aspects of the app. I’d also like to thank Jenny Berthiaume, XuanThu Pham and all the beta testers who took the time to use and feedback on the app while in development. Jim Fowler and Garth Moulton, for creating something unstoppable, and turning it into something great. Krys Taylor, for your blunt honesty, frank opinion and help in throwing out hundreds of dollars worth of bad graphic design, I thank you.

- Ray Scott

.
